Nigerian Military Busts Terrorists' Detention Facilities, 20 Killed in Bandit Attack

The Nigerian military, through the Joint Task Force Northeast Operation Hadin Kai, successfully uncovered and destroyed three major terrorist detention facilities in the Timbuktu Triangle stretching across Borno and Yobe states. This operation led to the escape of 70 captives and the death of 32 insurgents, including combat losses suffered by the ISWAP terrorist group.

The facilities, holding around 300 detainees, were strategically important for ISWAP's operations. The military's sustained offensive actions have disrupted the group's ability to collect ransom and control local populations.

In a separate incident, suspected bandits attacked the Doma community in Katsina State, resulting in the tragic killing of 20 people. The attack left houses and shops ablaze, highlighting the ongoing security challenges faced by communities in the region.
