Nigerian Army Achieves Major Successes Under Oluyede

Philip Agbes, the Deputy Spokesman for the House of Representatives, commended the Nigerian Army for its significant operational successes under the leadership of Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede. Speaking to journalists in Abuja, Agbes highlighted the achievements of joint military operations over the past year, particularly in combating terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping across Nigeria.

He noted that in June alone, troops neutralized 129 terrorists, arrested 486 suspects, rescued 542 kidnap victims, recovered 130 firearms, and dismantled seven illegal refining sites, recovering 308,000 liters of stolen petroleum products. Agbes emphasized the importance of public support for the military, urging citizens to provide credible intelligence to aid operations.

He expressed confidence in the military's ability to sustain pressure on criminal networks and restore peace, citing impressive operational figures from the second quarter of the year, which included the neutralization of 662 terrorists and the recovery of significant amounts of stolen resources.
