Nigerian Armed Forces Achieve Major Successes in 2026

The Nigerian Armed Forces have demonstrated remarkable operational success under the leadership of General Olufemi Oluyede, achieving significant breakthroughs in the fight against terrorism and criminal activities. Between May and June 2026, the Nigerian Army neutralized 317 terrorists and arrested 314 suspects in May, while the Nigerian Navy rescued 221 kidnapped civilians and dismantled illegal arms factories.

In June, the Nigerian Air Force neutralized 129 terrorists, arrested 486 suspects, and rescued 542 kidnapped victims. Cumulatively, over 662 terrorists were eliminated through joint operations across the three services.

The Army focused on ground offensives, the Air Force provided air support and surveillance, and the Navy intensified maritime operations against oil theft and piracy. These coordinated efforts reflect a unified command structure and operational excellence, marking unprecedented achievements in Nigeria's ongoing battle against terrorism and crime.
