Military Pension Board Alerts Pensioners on Fraud Risks

The Military Pension Board, represented by Squadron Leader Aliyu Muham, has issued a warning to pensioners against fraudsters who approach them with promises of quick loans and financial assistance. These fraudsters often request sensitive information such as Bank Verification Numbers (BVN), National Identification Numbers (NIN), bank account details, and ATM card information.

Squadron Leader Muham cautioned pensioners and their next of kin to avoid disclosing personal information to individuals or groups on unofficial platforms. The Military Pension Board emphasized that it does not engage third parties to collect pension-related information or facilitate loans.

Pensioners are advised to treat any requests for personal information from unofficial sources with suspicion and to report such incidents to the appropriate authorities for necessary action. The board reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the interests of military retirees and will continue collaborating with relevant agencies to safeguard against pension fraud and criminal activities.
