Olusegun Mimiko Joins APC, Backs Tinubu's Re-election

Olusegun Mimiko, who served as the governor of Ondo State from 2009 to 2016, has formally joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after resigning from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) last month. His official membership was announced at the APC secretariat in Ward 7, Ondo West Local Government Area.

Mimiko expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that significant progress has been made under Tinubu's leadership. He commended the president's initiatives aimed at fostering peace, progress, and genuine development in Nigeria, including efforts to decentralize the police.

Kolawole Babatunde, the state chairman of APC, welcomed Mimiko, noting that his joining represents a homecoming and a commitment to contribute to the party's electoral success in future elections. Joseph Akinlaja, a former member of the House of Representatives, also acknowledged Mimiko's transition to the APC, indicating a positive shift in the political landscape of Ondo State.
