Mining Marshals Justify Quarry Closure as Crime Scene

The Mining Marshals have responded to claims by Stone Rockers Nigeria Limited regarding the legality of the 13-month closure of its quarry, asserting that the site is sealed as it is an active crime scene related to an ongoing criminal case. Stone Rockers had petitioned the President and senior government officials, alleging the closure was unlawful without a court order.

The Commander of the Mining Marshals clarified that the closure is not an administrative penalty but a necessary action due to the quarry being the locus criminis in Charge No. FHC/ABM/VR/338/2026, where Stone Rockers and its director, Mr. Kolawole Olaiya, are accused of conducting mining operations within a mineral title area belonging to Lord's Career Ventures Nigeria Limited.

This case arose from petitions filed by Lord's Career Ventures over a year, which were referred for investigation by the Ministers of Solid Minerals Development and Interior. Investigators arrested the defendants at specific coordinates confirmed to fall within the mineral lease area of Lord's Career Ventures.
