Ibeju-Lekki Housing Project Nears Completion at 90%

The Ibeju-Lekki Housing Project, located in Lagos State, is currently 90% complete, as stated by Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, during an inspection visit. The project consists of a total of 2,084 housing units and is scheduled for commissioning in October.

The initiative operates under a public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement between the Federal Government and the private sector, which is a strategic approach to enhance housing delivery across Nigeria. The Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) is financing the project, which aims to provide shelter for thousands of Nigerians.

Minister Darma expressed satisfaction with the progress, noting that approximately 80% of the project is ready for occupancy. Shehu Osidi, Managing Director and Chief Executive of FMBN, reaffirmed the bank's commitment to delivering affordable housing solutions and urged for faster delivery timelines to enable beneficiaries to occupy completed housing units without unnecessary delays.
