Miss Austria 2024 Lucia Sisic Dies at Age 22

Lucia Sisic, the reigning Miss Austria 2024, passed away at the age of 22 after living with a congenital heart condition. Mission Austria, the organization behind the Miss Austria and Mister Austria beauty pageants, confirmed her death in a tribute on Facebook.

The cause of death has not been disclosed. Sisic was crowned in 2024 and remained the titleholder as no subsequent contest has been held.

Mission Austria's tribute, signed by CEO Kerstin Rigger and her husband Jörg, described Sisic as a "wonderful young woman" and extended condolences to her family and friends. Sisic had undergone seven operations due to her heart condition, beginning shortly after her birth.

She shared her journey on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the medical team that supported her. Her openness about her health challenges inspired many, and she was remembered by Herzkinder Österreich, an Austrian charity, as a courageous individual who pursued her dreams despite her medical issues.
