Mo Abudu Launches UK’s First Cinema for Black Films

Mo Abudu unveiled the UK’s first cinema dedicated to African and Black films as part of the EbonyLife Place London project. She shared this update on Monday, alongside a video showcasing the transformation of the property since her acquisition in March 2025.

The video illustrated the property’s original state and its significant changes over a year, highlighting a polished, vintage-inspired cinema aesthetic in the auditorium. Abudu stated that the auditorium is just one component of the broader EbonyLife Place London initiative, which will include various spaces aimed at providing visitors with more than just a cinema experience.

This project marks the expansion of the EbonyLife Place brand from Nigeria to the UK, positioning the venue as a cultural hub for African and Black storytelling, culture, and entertainment. Abudu is the founder of EbonyLife Media, a global media company focused on African narratives and talent.
