Modern Ambulance Boosts Healthcare in Edo State

On Monday in Benin City, Edo State Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa stated that sustained investment in modern medical equipment is crucial for expanding access to quality healthcare services for Nigerians.

He made this statement while presenting a state-of-the-art ambulance, donated by the Federal Government, to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH). Idahosa noted that equipping healthcare institutions with modern facilities is vital for improving healthcare delivery.

He explained that the ambulance was secured during his tenure as the lawmaker for Ovia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, although delays in budget implementation postponed its delivery. He commended the Federal Government for the ambulance, which he described as part of efforts to enhance healthcare delivery and emergency medical response.

Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, Chief Medical Director of UBTH, expressed gratitude for the ambulance, highlighting its advanced medical equipment and its potential to significantly improve emergency medical operations, particularly for trauma cases.
