FG Reaffirms Commitment to Healthcare at UBTH Projects Launch

On Wednesday in Benin, Daju Kachollom, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, announced the Federal Government's commitment to improving healthcare delivery across Nigeria. This statement was made during the inauguration of various projects at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) to celebrate Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu's one-year anniversary as Chief Medical Director (CMD).

Kachollom, represented by Dr. Philip Ugbodaga, urged support for President Bola Tinubu's administration to enhance the health sector. She praised Ize-Iyamu for her achievements, including the unveiling of the Special Investigation Unit and other facilities, which reflect her effective leadership and management.

The projects included a 65-bed Accident and Emergency complex, an expanded mortuary, and various specialized healthcare units. Ize-Iyamu emphasized the hospital's dedication to providing quality healthcare to all, regardless of background, and announced plans to extend services to underserved communities.
