Agu's career includes experience in tax with Ernst & Young and transactional work during his NYSC year, leading to a diverse portfolio involving commercial banks, development finance institutions, and government projects. He emphasizes the importance of sophisticated financing and execution in Nigeria's energy, finance, and infrastructure sectors, particularly following the Electricity Act 2023, which allows states to develop their electricity markets.
