More Filling Stations Slash Petrol Prices To Compete With NNPC, Dangote Partners

Several filling stations across Nigeria have reduced petrol prices in response to competition from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Dangote Partners. On August 21, some stations were selling petrol for as low as N865 per litre, below the previous average of N880-N890.

In Abuja, prices dropped to N900 per litre. Major players like Ardova, MRS, Petrocam, and TotalEnergies have adjusted their rates to stay competitive.

Private depots have also lowered prices, with some selling petrol for as low as N820 per litre. Analysts believe this price war is driven by the need to attract marketers as the market expands.

Dangote Refinery has also slashed diesel prices, intensifying the competition in the fuel market. The price adjustments are expected to continue as the industry evolves.
