States Receive N435bn for Security and Infrastructure

State governments in Nigeria received a total of N435bn through a special intervention from the Federation Account Allocation Committee for infrastructure and security between January and June 2026, as reported in half-year budget implementation reports from 29 states. This funding is categorized as “State Infrastructure and Security” and is separate from the conventional statutory FAAC allocations, although it was distributed as regular FAAC revenue.

Notably, no funds were disbursed under this intervention window during the same period in 2025. The allocation comes amid increasing calls for states to utilize federal allocations to tackle infrastructure deficits and escalating security issues.
