Tinubu and APC Governors Address Campaign List Controversy

On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu convened a meeting with APC governors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to tackle the ongoing controversy regarding the Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 elections. This meeting was part of the ruling party's efforts to resolve criticisms surrounding the initial list, which included controversial party members and allegations of insufficient consultation with key party sections.

Sources indicated that the initial list had been removed from the APC's X handle, and a revised version is anticipated following President Tinubu's approval of the proposed changes. The discussions reportedly extended for several hours on Wednesday and continued into Thursday.

Additionally, the APC is planning to enhance social intervention programs in preparation for the January 2027 elections to better connect with Nigerians and alleviate the impacts of economic hardship.
