Issa Ndiaye Sacked by USM Oujda Over AFCON Remarks

Issa Ndiaye, a Senegalese midfielder, has been dismissed from his contract with Moroccan second division club USM Oujda. The termination follows his public comments that allegedly mocked the Confederation of African Football (CAF) regarding its decision to strip Senegal of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 title.

The CAF's appeal board ruled that the Senegalese team, known as the Teranga Lions, violated competition regulations by walking off the pitch 17 minutes into the final match, which they lost 1-0. Ndiaye's remarks were considered disrespectful to both the club and the CAF, leading to his contract termination.
