Mother and Son Survive Car Overturn in Lagos Traffic

On a Wednesday morning, a serious traffic incident occurred on the LASU-Isheri Expressway in Lagos, where a Lexus SUV with registration number KJA 39 JT overturned multiple times. The vehicle was traveling from Isheri towards Igando when it suddenly lost stability, resulting in the crash during heavy peak hour traffic.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), led by Director of Public Affairs Adebayo Taofiq, reported that their officers quickly mobilized to the scene to execute a coordinated rescue operation. The mother and son, who were the vehicle's occupants, were successfully extricated from the severely damaged SUV with visible bruises and mild psychological trauma, narrowly avoiding a potentially fatal situation.

The Nigeria Police Force, attached to the Igando division, assisted in crowd control and securing the scene. LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakar Oki expressed relief that no lives were lost and emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits and conducting routine vehicle checks to prevent such accidents.
