Mother and Son Survive Lagos SUV Crash Unharmed

On Monday morning, a mother and son narrowly escaped death in a road crash on the LASU-Isheri Expressway in Lagos State. The incident involved a Lexus SUV with registration number KJA 39 JT, which lost stability and overturned three times while traveling from Isheri toward Igando.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the crash, stating it occurred during heavy peak hour traffic. Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA's Director of Public Affairs, reported that the mother and son were successfully extricated from the severely damaged vehicle, suffering only visible bruises and mild trauma.

LASTMA quickly mobilized to the scene, coordinating with the Nigeria Police Force's Igando division for crowd control and security during the rescue operation. Olalekan Bakar Oki, LASTMA's General Manager, expressed relief that no lives were lost and wished the victims a swift recovery.

He urged motorists to observe speed limits and conduct routine vehicle maintenance, particularly checking critical safety components like brakes, as excess speed remains a significant contributor to severe road accidents.
