Motorcyclist and Passenger Injured in Oyo State Crash
On Sunday at 8:05 PM, a motorcyclist and a female passenger were involved in a serious road crash in Oyo State. The incident occurred when the motorcyclist attempted to avoid a speeding vehicle, leading to a loss of control.
Eyewitness Jamiu Akintayo reported that the crash happened near Cele Bus Stop on Mokola Road, Ibadan, as two vehicles overtook the motorcycle. The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries, including a badly broken leg and profuse bleeding, while the female passenger was left unconscious on the ground with severe leg injuries.
Police officers from a nearby checkpoint responded to the scene after being informed of the accident and rushed the injured victims to the hospital. The driver of the car involved in the crash fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle in the middle of the road.
The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer was contacted but could not immediately confirm the incident or the condition of the injured victims.
