Ondo Lawmaker Survives Auto Crash, 19 Injured

An Ondo lawmaker recently escaped serious injury in an auto crash that involved three vehicles, including two buses and a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. The incident, confirmed by Samuel Ibitoye, the Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), involved a total of 19 individuals, comprising 15 males and four females.

Preliminary investigations indicated that wrongful overtaking and overspeeding were contributing factors to the crash. Out of the 19 people involved, two female commuters sustained severe injuries, while others suffered minor injuries.

The injured victims were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The lawmaker, who had recently secured a return ticket to the National Assembly, did not suffer serious injuries, although some members of his entourage required treatment.

Ibitoye urged motorists to practice patience and adopt defensive driving techniques to prevent such accidents, emphasizing the dangers of speeding and wrongful overtaking.
