Masterclass Enhances African Film Distribution Knowledge

On 24 and 26 August 2026, the Nigerian International Film Summit (NIFS) partnered with MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) to host the International Sales and Distribution Executive (ISDE) Masterclass and Microdrama Masterclass. The sessions, themed “From Script to Market: The Future of Cinema in Africa,” focused on the crucial aspects of film distribution and sales, which are often overlooked after production.

MTF Academy Director, Akaoma Onyeonoru, stated that making a film is just the beginning, as it requires effective positioning and market strategies to reach wider audiences. Industry experts, including Kene Mkparu, President/CEO of KOMWORLD Cinemas, Funmi Onuma, and Ijeoma Onah, Founder of NIFS, shared insights on the commercial journey of films.

Ijeoma Onah praised MTF for its ongoing investment in the creative industry, highlighting the importance of such partnerships in providing practitioners with essential access to industry knowledge and networks.
