Mutfwang Urges NCDC to Prioritize Sustainable Development

On Monday, Governor Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State charged the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) to focus on sustainable development across the North Central region.

During a courtesy visit from the NCDC board, led by Chairman Barr. Cosma Akiyir and Managing Director Dr.

Cyril Tsenyil, Mutfwang warned against political interference that has historically hindered similar agencies. He urged the NCDC to prioritize long-term, people-centered development initiatives rather than temporary solutions.

Mutfwang highlighted the significant infrastructural deficits in the region, particularly in Plateau State, which has numerous abandoned projects requiring substantial resources to complete. He stressed the importance of partnerships in areas such as road development, water supply, and agricultural storage infrastructure.

The governor also advised the NCDC to work closely with the state government to align priorities for better outcomes. Akiyir acknowledged the challenges faced by the commission, including a lack of logistical support, and appealed for the governor's intervention in providing necessary resources.
