Chipito Shares Family Struggles Ahead of MMA Bout

Chipito, a 27-year-old mixed martial arts fighter from Zambia, disclosed that her family has never attended her fights, which has impacted her career in combat sports. Speaking ahead of her strawweight bout against Egypt's Haidi Ahm at the Professional Fighters League Africa 2 event at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Chipito expressed her emotional struggles with the lack of support from her household.

She faced public criticism, particularly as a woman in martial arts, and has made significant sacrifices, including dropping out of school. Despite these challenges, she has remained focused on her career, achieving nine wins and four losses in her amateur career and making her professional debut in December 2025, winning against Miracl Andrew by unanimous decision.

Chipito is also recognized as a silver medallist at the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation World Championship and was honored by Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema during the 2025 Independence Day investiture ceremony at the State House in Lusaka.
