Malami Challenges EFCC Over Property Seizure in Court

This order, obtained by the EFCC, affects multiple assets linked to Malami, who insists that his wealth and properties were acquired legally throughout his career as a lawyer.

In court documents, Malami argues that the EFCC has failed to establish a direct connection between his assets and any illegal activities. He claims that the figures presented by the EFCC regarding the value of his properties are exaggerated and that independent valuations show a significantly lower worth.

Malami details his income sources, including legal practice, business ventures, and investments, asserting compliance with legal requirements. He accuses the EFCC of exceeding its powers and violating due process by seizing properties without a final court order.

Malami seeks to nullify the interim forfeiture order and maintain that his properties are legitimate and unconnected to crime.
