Atiku Abubakar's U.S. Visit to Address Nigeria's Crises

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has announced that his upcoming visit to the United States will concentrate on addressing Nigeria's deteriorating security situation, economic challenges, and the necessity for good governance. In a statement issued by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, Abubakar described Nigeria as facing a full-blown internal crisis that can no longer be ignored.

He highlighted the rise in violence across various regions, including the Northwest, Northeast, and Middle Belt, and criticized the government's failure to ensure safety and security for its citizens. Abubakar pointed to deepening economic hardships, including rising inflation and a weakening currency, which have left citizens struggling.

He emphasized the importance of restoring public confidence in governance and urged the current administration to prioritize urgent reforms. Abubakar defended his decision to engage with global stakeholders, asserting that Nigeria's challenges have global implications and cannot be addressed in isolation.
