Federal Government Launches ₦50,000 Relief Fund Initiative
Kingsley Onuoha, representing the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations, announced a ₦50,000 relief fund aimed at very poor and vulnerable individuals in Nigeria. The beneficiaries will be selected from the National Social Register and verified national identity records, covering all six geopolitical zones.
There is no application or registration process, and no individual or agent can influence the selection. Each selected beneficiary will receive ₦50,000 as a Federal Government grant, credited in full without deductions, as it is not a loan and does not require repayment.
Beneficiaries will be notified via SMS from authorized digital financial service providers, which will include instructions on how to accept the support. Approved payment platforms include ALAT by Wema Bank, MoMo PSB, NairaGram, OPay, and Moniepoint.
Onuoha warned beneficiaries not to disclose their Personal Identification Number (PIN), One-Time Password (OTP), or Bank Verification Number (BVN) to anyone, as demands for money in exchange for the grant indicate fraud.
