Ministry Warns Nigerians About Fraudulent ₦50,000 Grant Links
The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction has issued a warning regarding fraudulent registration links for the ₦50,000 household support grant. Kingsley Onuoha, the Ministry's Director of Information and Public Relations, clarified that the grant is intended for vulnerable households facing economic difficulties and is not open for public applications.
Beneficiaries will be identified through the National Social Register and verified national identity records, covering all six geopolitical zones. Only households classified as very poor and vulnerable are eligible.
Each selected beneficiary will receive ₦50,000 as a one-off federal grant, credited without deductions and without any repayment obligation. The Ministry stated that legitimate notifications will be sent via SMS from authorized digital financial service providers, containing instructions for accessing the funds.
Beneficiaries must not share sensitive personal information with third parties to avoid fraud.
