Court Allows Peter Obi to Serve Kenneth Okonkwo Documents

The Anambra State High Court in Onitsha has granted Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), permission to serve court documents to Kenneth Okonkwo through substituted means. This decision follows unsuccessful attempts to serve Okonkwo personally at his last known address in Nsukka, Enugu State.

The court's order allows for the documents to be handed to an adult residing at that address. The legal action stems from allegations made by Okonkwo against Obi, claiming additional payments were sought for a party ticket for the National Assembly position.

Okonkwo's claims include documentary evidence, such as receipts, to support his allegations of dishonesty and criminal conduct by Obi. In response, Obi's legal team issued a pre-action letter demanding a public apology and retraction from Okonkwo, along with a claim for N5 billion in damages, and requested that Okonkwo refrain from making similar statements in the future.
