NABTEB and ICPC Launch Anti-Corruption Unit in Edo State

The National Board for Technical Education Board (NABTEB) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) partnered to promote accountability by inaugurating the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) at NABTEB's head office in Benin, Edo State. Dr Mohammed Mohammed, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, stated that the ACTU's establishment is vital as NABTEB's activities are funded by taxpayers, necessitating adherence to the Procurement Act and financial regulations.
He expressed gratitude to the ICPC for accepting five NABTEB members into the ACTU, who were selected for their proven character. Adenekan Shogunle, the Edo State chairman of the ICPC, represented by Deputy Director Odogwu Preye, affirmed the commission's commitment to fighting corruption through investigation, prosecution, and prevention.
Dr Emmanuel Adetunji, the ACTU chairman, pledged to uphold ethical standards under the new leadership.
