NAF Investigates Civilian Casualties from Jilli Airstrike

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has initiated an investigation into alleged civilian casualties resulting from an airstrike conducted on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Jilli, which reportedly affected a local market. The airstrike was part of operations targeting terrorist fighters, who were apprehended with funds intended for logistical support.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam, the Director of Public Relations and Information for the NAF, stated that the service treats allegations of civilian harm with utmost seriousness and emphasizes the protection of innocent lives as central to its operations. The Chief of Air Staff has directed an immediate activation of a civilian harm accident investigation cell, which has already been deployed to the location for a fact-finding mission to verify the claims.
