NAF Offers 846 Free Surgery, Treats 11,000 In Imo

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) conducted a successful medical outreach in Imo State, offering 846 free surgeries and treating over 11,000 individuals in collaboration with the Nwagwu Health Initiative. The outreach, which took place in the Mbaise environs in August 2025, included the distribution of vital medical aid to persons living with disabilities.

NAF's Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, emphasized that this initiative is part of NAF's strategy to win the hearts and minds of citizens by alleviating suffering, particularly in remote communities. The surgeries performed ranged from thyroidectomies to gynecological and general surgeries, as well as eye surgeries.

The program also included health education sessions on preventive care and maternal health. The project coordinator, Air Vice Marshal Uche Nwagwu, praised the collaboration between NAF and local stakeholders, highlighting the impact of their joint efforts in improving the lives of the community.
