NAFDAC Shuts Down Abuja Pharmacy for Selling Expired Drugs

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) closed a pharmacy in Abuja's Garki area for selling expired and unregistered drugs, including an H. pylori test kit. The enforcement action followed a tip-off and resulted in the discovery of expired products worth seven million naira.

Despite attempts by pharmacy staff to obstruct the operation, NAFDAC successfully confiscated the expired products. The pharmacy's management and director were arrested and face further questioning and stringent sanctions to deter unethical practices.
