NAHCON Completes 2026 Hajj Airlift, Prepares for 2027

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has completed the return airlift of Nigerian pilgrims from the 2026 Hajj, with the final flight for pilgrims from Zamfara State expected to arrive in Nigeria on Tuesday. Hajiya Fatima Usara, NAHCON's spokesperson, announced that the successful conclusion of the return airlift marks the end of the 2026 Hajj operations, which involved extensive coordination among various stakeholders, including aviation partners, state pilgrim welfare boards, tour operators, medical teams, and security agencies.

Currently, 12 Nigerian pilgrims are receiving treatment for various health conditions in hospitals in Saudi Arabia, and NAHCON is closely monitoring their situation to facilitate their safe return. Preparations for the 2027 Hajj have already begun, with a circular dated June 15 sent to Hajj managers across the country.

NAHCON Chairman Ambassador Abdullahi Ismail Yusuf expressed gratitude for the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj and acknowledged the support from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
