NANS Calls for Investigation into Student's Death

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) South West Zone coordinator, Josiah Adeyemo, and the management of Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) have demanded a thorough investigation into the death of Ayeni Ademiju, a student allegedly stabbed at a NANS convention in Osogbo, Osun State, on Saturday. Adeyemo stated that evidence suggests the incident did not occur on the convention premises and urged the Osun State Police Command to explore all credible angles, including Ademiju's movements and affiliations prior to his death.

OSPOLY's Registrar, Abiodun Oloyede, clarified that while Ademiju was registered as a part-time student in 2023, he had voluntarily withdrawn from the institution, and there was no evidence of his registration that would allow him to complete his National Diploma. OSPOLY emphasized that he should not be referred to as their student, as he had left the Polytechnic approximately three years ago.
