NANS to Elect New President on May 24, 2026

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is set to elect a new president on May 24, 2026. The election process was outlined by the committee chairman, Omotayo Samuel, during a briefing in Abuja.

The committee was inaugurated on March 8, 2026, in accordance with the association's constitution. Pre-convention activities commenced on March 8 and will run until March 30, 2026.

Nomination and accreditation forms will be available from April 1 to April 7, with submissions due by April 10. Physical screening of aspirants is scheduled for April 12 to April 19, followed by studentship verification from April 20 to April 27.

Results will be released on April 29, with an appeal window from May 1 to May 7. Final appeal results will be announced on May 9.

Convention activities will take place from May 22 to May 25 at Old Parade Ground, Abuja, with delegates expected to arrive by May 20. The chairman emphasized that the process is free of charge and urged stakeholders to cooperate for a successful and transparent convention.
