Nasarawa Labour Party Elects Asoloko Maku as Chairman

On Tuesday, during a press conference in Lafia, Nasarawa State, Asoloko Maku was elected as the new chairman of the Labour Party. Maku described the recent party congress as a testament to the unity and resilience of the Labour Party in Nasarawa State, despite external distractions.

He acknowledged the support of 13 local government chairmen and pledged to run an inclusive administration focused on grassroots mobilization. Maku emphasized the importance of preparing for the 2027 general elections and ensuring that resources benefit all residents of Nasarawa State.

He also addressed ongoing legal disputes within the party, reaffirming the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman, whose position was upheld by a Supreme Court verdict on April 4, 2025. Maku called for party members to remain focused and united, highlighting the need to protect every vote cast in future elections.
