Labour Party Distributes Free Nomination Forms in Nasarawa

The Labour Party's Nasarawa State chapter, loyal to Julius Abur, has commenced the distribution of free nomination forms to aspirants interested in contesting for various electoral positions, including governorship and senatorial seats. Alex Ombugu, the state chairman, announced this initiative during a press briefing at the party's secretariat in Lafia on Friday.

The decision to issue free forms is intended to alleviate the financial burden on aspirants and encourage participation in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Ombugu emphasized the necessity of fielding candidates despite ongoing leadership disputes within the party.

He confirmed that the party's primaries are scheduled for May 27th for governorship and House of Assembly positions, and May 29th for senatorial and House of Representatives positions. Additionally, the Labour Party aims to present candidates who can effectively address unemployment and insecurity in the state, contrasting their approach with the current administration's performance.
