Accord Party Candidate Sues INEC Over Exclusion

Solomon Kuje Angba, representing the Accord Party, has initiated legal action against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the Federal High Court, challenging his exclusion from the list of candidates for the Nasarawa North senatorial seat in the upcoming elections scheduled for June 20, 2026. The case was mentioned on Thursday in Lafia before Justice Anyelawa Onoja Alapa, who has ordered that notices be served to the parties involved, with hearings set to commence on July 3, 2026.

Angba's counsel, Moham Adamu, stated that despite submitting a valid nomination during the party's primaries, Angba's name was omitted from INEC's final list. The suit seeks justice in accordance with the provisions of the 2026 Electoral Act, as Angba claims he duly served complaints to the electoral body regarding this unlawful exclusion.
