Nasarawa Police Arrest Eight Suspected Kidnappers

The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested eight suspected kidnappers and neutralized one individual during an operation in Rukubi Village on May 7, 2026. The operation was led by Commissioner of Police Mohammed Shatima Jauro, who provided updates in a press briefing on May 6, 2026.

The suspects, identified as Adamu Alfa (35), Muham Alfa (25), Shuaibu Alfa (33), Usman Alfa (25), Ali Alfa (30), Isa Alfa (15), and Ja Afaru Alfa (38), were connected to a kidnapping incident that occurred on May 6, 2026, where two individuals, Ayel Jonathan and Rose Samuel, were abducted. Following a distress report, police patrol teams, in collaboration with the Nigerian military and local vigilante groups, mobilized to the area.

During the operation, two AK-47 rifles and four Bajaj motorcycles were recovered, along with two spent AK-47 ammunition shells. One suspect, Muham Alfa, sustained fatal injuries during the encounter and later received treatment.

The police emphasized their commitment to combating kidnapping and violent crime in Nasarawa State.
