Nasarawa Group Warns Against Intimidation in Politics

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Emmanuel Zachari, representing a group of political aspirants in Nasarawa, cautioned against unnecessary tension and undemocratic tactics such as intimidation and blackmail among aspirants, particularly targeting Wadada. The group emphasized that every citizen has the constitutional right to pursue political aspirations without fear.

They warned that resorting to such tactics could harm the democratic process and create divisions within the All Progressives Congress (APC). The statement called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and urged Governor Abdullahi Sule to maintain a level playing field for all aspirants, advocating for direct primaries that empower party members to choose their candidates.

The group criticized the use of anti-corruption agencies against aspirants, stating that such actions could backfire and undermine healthy democracy.
