Nasarawa Governor Abdullahi Sule Sacks Six Commissioners

On July 22, 2026, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa announced a minor reshuffle in the state executive council, resulting in the dismissal of six commissioners. The announcement was made by the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Dr. Shuaibu Labaran Magaji, SAN, following a state executive council meeting in Lafia.

The governor stated that these changes are part of efforts to strengthen the administration's preparations for future work and the forthcoming elections. The commissioners relieved of their duties include Usman Baba (Commissioner for Security and Sundry Matters), Mu’azu Gosho (Commissioner for Works), David Moyi (Commissioner for Land), Hauwa Jigbo (Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development), Gabriel Agbashi (Commissioner for Science and Technology), and Ibrahim Tanko (Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism).

Dr. Magaji commended the affected commissioners for their commitment to good governance and indicated that their replacements would be announced in due course.
