NASENI Empowers Osun Youths and Women with Skills

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) conducted a three-day Sustainable Empowerment Programme from August 7 to 9, 2026, in Ile-Ife, Osun State, aimed at empowering youths and women with advanced technical skills and work equipment. The initiative, led by Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Khalil Halilu, provided training in advanced photography and drone operations, advanced shoemaking, CCTV and inverter installation, and advanced tailoring.

Participants received relevant equipment to apply their newly acquired skills immediately. Halilu emphasized that the program was designed to go beyond mere certificate awards, focusing on practical skills and tools for sustainable livelihoods.

He urged beneficiaries to view the equipment as starter tools for viable enterprises. The success of the initiative will be measured by the businesses and employment opportunities created by the beneficiaries.

Halilu acknowledged community leaders and stakeholders for their support, particularly Taofeek Ajilesoro, Chairman of the House Committee on NASENI, who contributed to expanding opportunities for the participants.
