National Assembly Investigates Corruption in MDAs

The National Assembly (NASS) and various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are facing serious allegations of corrupt practices. Recent investigations by the NASS Appropriations Committee and the Finance Committee have highlighted a complete lack of fund releases from the capital component of the 2025 budget, which poses a significant threat to economic activities in Nigeria.

The committees have expressed full support for calls for the resignation of ministers deemed incompetent and non-performing, particularly in relation to the economic plans. They have identified the need for continued investigations and possible prosecutions of individuals involved in corrupt practices that have siphoned public funds, amounting to N210 trillion in the petroleum sector.

Usman Moham Anach, the National Chairman of Grassroot Advocacy for Peace and Good Governance, has urged Nigerian individuals and groups, including NGOs and civil society organizations, to rally behind the National Assembly in its efforts to combat corruption and ensure that democracy's dividends reach the grassroots.
