Natasha backs Oluyede as PDP ramps up Ekiti campaign push

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan threw her weight behind PDP's Dr. Wole Oluyede in Ekiti, days before the June 20 governorship election.
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central in the National Assembly, campaigned for the People's Democratic Party's governorship candidate in Ekiti State during the party's final rally in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, June 13. The lawmaker publicly backed Dr.
Wole Oluyede, describing him as a capable administrator with the integrity and inclusive vision needed to lead the state. Akpoti-Uduaghan spent several days traversing Ekiti communities to mobilise support for Oluyede ahead of the June 20 poll.
The campaign event drew party stalwarts, youth members, women's groups, and members of the Ebira community residing in the state. The senator's endorsement came as part of the PDP's push to energise grassroots support in the final week before voters went to the polls.
At the same rally, Oluyede unveiled a 100-day development roadmap focused on road rehabilitation, healthcare delivery, commercial agriculture, and grassroots wealth creation. The candidate called on incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji to prepare handover documents in anticipation of a change in administration.
The PDP campaign event attracted other party leaders across the state, signalling the party's unified front heading into the election. The rally represented a critical moment in the governorship race, with the PDP attempting to consolidate momentum after weeks of campaigning.
Oluyede's presentation of a detailed post-election agenda was designed to address voter concerns about concrete plans rather than promises. The June 20 election would determine whether the PDP's campaign efforts translated into electoral victory in the south-western state.
