David Mark's ADC Expels Nafiu Bala Gombe and Others

During the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Abuja on Tuesday, David Mark, the party's leader, announced the expulsion of several members, including Nafiu Bala Gombe, the former Deputy National Chairman, and Leke Abejide. Other expelled members included Kenneth Ehiat, Stella Chukwu, and Elia Adiukwu.

Despite the expulsion, Nafiu Bala Gombe claims to be the authentic national chairman of the party, disputing the legitimacy of the leadership under David Mark. He had previously announced his resignation from the position of Deputy National Chairman.

Following the convention, Bala led a protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Thursday, demanding recognition of his leadership. He accused political figures of attempting to hijack the party and has filed a suit against INEC regarding the recognition of David Mark's leadership of the ADC.
