Atiku Abubakar Critiques Tinubu Over Niger Killings

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria and 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), condemned the killings and abductions in Borgu Local Government Area, Niger State, describing the incident as a national disgrace. In a statement released on Monday, he reported that over 40 Nigerians were killed, criticizing President Bola Tinubu's administration for its ineffective security measures.

Atiku accused the government of only reacting after terrorist attacks, allowing criminals to escape before security forces arrive. He highlighted the ongoing plight of families of kidnapped individuals, noting that it has been over 100 days since schoolchildren and other civilians were abducted.

Atiku proposed a comprehensive security plan focused on intelligence coordination, technology, and proactive measures to prevent attacks. He stated that the President must take responsibility for security outcomes, asserting that the current approach counts the dead rather than preventing further violence.

Atiku extended condolences to the victims' families and called for the immediate rescue of all abducted citizens.
