Nigerian Navy and Chevron Collaborate for Maritime Security

The Nigerian Navy and Chevron Nigeria Limited have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their partnership aimed at enhancing maritime security and supporting national development. This initiative was highlighted during a visit by Rear Admiral AA Mustapha, the Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, to Chevron Nigeria Limited.

The discussions focused on the critical role of the Western Naval Command in safeguarding Nigeria's maritime domain, particularly around Lagos. Rear Admiral Mustapha stressed the importance of sustaining the partnership with key stakeholders like Chevron to tackle emerging security threats.

The meeting also advocated for strategic collaboration to drive technological advancements, promote capacity building, and facilitate knowledge transfer to boost indigenous capabilities. Jim Swartz, the Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria, commended the Nigerian Navy for its unwavering dedication to maritime security and noted the positive impact of improved security on Chevron's operations, reaffirming the company's commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance safety and technological development.
