Navy Chief Launches IMION Newsletter for Maritime Innovation

On Thursday, Vice Admiral Idi Abba, the Chief of Naval Staff, unveiled the inaugural newsletter of the International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) in Lagos. He called for renewed innovative collaboration and strategic policy implementation to unlock Nigeria's vast maritime potential.

Abba described the newsletter as a significant step towards strengthening the institute's growth and enhancing stakeholder engagement in the maritime sector. He noted that the newsletter would serve as a vital platform for knowledge sharing and documenting progress to promote excellence within Nigeria's blue economy.

The event coincided with the opening of a three-day executive program on Nigeria's blue economy policy, which aims to bring together key stakeholders from government, academia, and industry. Rear Admiral TC Udofia (Rtd), the director of IMION, highlighted Nigeria's strategic position and the benefits of its extensive coastline and inland waterways, particularly in the Gulf of Guinea.
