Nigerian Navy Enhances Combat Readiness in Bayelsa

On Saturday, the Nigerian Navy executed its second quarter route march in Egweama Liama, Brass Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, as part of its 2026 scheduled events aimed at improving physical fitness and combat readiness among personnel. The exercise saw impressive participation from officers, members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), and local security personnel, highlighting the strong civil-military relationship and synergy with the host community.

Captain S.K. Haruna, the Commanding Officer of the Forward Operating Base (FOB), commended the enthusiasm and dedication of participants, emphasizing that the route march is a critical aspect of military training designed to enhance endurance and maintain combat readiness.

He noted that the participation of NYSC members and local security personnel reflects a cordial relationship and mutual understanding with the community. The event concluded with participants displaying high morale and giving cheers in honor of the commanding officer, reaffirming the FOB's commitment to maintaining a highly fit and operationally ready force.
