Nigerian Navy Restores Power to Akwa Ibom Community

The Nigerian Navy has successfully restored electricity to Nduk community in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, after more than 15 years of blackout. This was achieved through the rehabilitation of its electrification project and the installation of a new 300KVA transformer.

The project was commissioned on Wednesday as part of the Navy's Civil-Military Cooperation intervention programs, which were approved by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, and funded under the CNS Special Intervention Quick Impact Project scheme. At the commissioning ceremony, represented by Rear Admiral Chiedozie Okehie, Abbas emphasized the importance of empowering communities for national security and prosperity.

He urged residents to protect the facilities from vandalism. Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno, represented by Commissioner of Power Hon Iniobong Robson, commended the Navy's efforts, noting that the project aligns with his administration's ARISE agenda focused on socioeconomic development and security.

Rear Admiral Anifiok Uko facilitated the project, highlighting its aim to bridge development gaps in rural areas.
